Haveri: Man Trapped in Stalled Hospital Lift Rescued After Brief Ordeal

Haveri: Panic prevailed at the Haveri District Hospital after a man got trapped inside a lift that suddenly came to a halt between the first and second floors. The incident occurred on Monday and created anxious moments for hospital visitors and staff.

The victim, identified as Manjunath, had accompanied a patient to the hospital and was using the lift when it stopped midway. He was stuck inside for a brief period and reportedly panicked during the ordeal.

Upon receiving the alert, personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. Manjunath was safely brought out, much to the relief of onlookers.

Preliminary reports suggest that the lift came to a standstill due to technical issues. Locals have blamed poor maintenance by the hospital's technical staff for the mishap and demanded immediate action to prevent recurrence.
