AICC Key Meeting Begins in Ahmedabad; Rahul, Sonia, Kharge Among 169 Leaders to Attend

A significant AICC (All India Congress Committee) meeting will be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, for two days starting today. Around 169 leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Priyanka Gandhi, will participate in the meeting. Discussions will focus on necessary changes in the party's organization. Topics may include granting more powers to district presidents and defining their role in ticket distribution during elections.

Plans to strengthen the Congress in Gujarat — Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state — and bring the party to power there will also be considered. After the meeting, all leaders will visit the Sabarmati Ashram in the evening.

On April 9, a Congress convention will be held on the banks of the Sabarmati River, with around 2,500 leaders and members of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) expected to participate. The convention will adopt resolutions on political, economic, and social issues.
