SDM Narayana Heart Centre Marks 250+ Vascular Procedures in One Year

Daily Mail 24 News Desk.

Dharwad: SDM Narayana Heart Centre has successfully performed over 250 procedures in its Vascular Surgery Department within a year of its establishment, addressing the shortage of specialized care in North Karnataka. Led by Dr. Basavarajendra Anurshetru, the department offers advanced open and endovascular treatments.

Addressing press conference here on Monday, Dr Anurshetru said, a major highlight is the introduction of Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT) for varicose veins, a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery. With over 100 procedures completed, EVLT provides faster recovery and greater patient comfort.

The center has also conducted more than 80 successful Endovascular Angioplasty and Stenting procedures for Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD), improving blood flow and reducing complications like gangrene. These minimally invasive techniques offer effective relief from pain and numbness caused by narrowed arteries, he said.

Further expanding its services, the hospital is set to launch a Diabetic Foot Clinic aimed at preventing and managing diabetes-related foot issues. The clinic will offer routine screenings, wound care, vascular assessments, and custom orthotics, said Facility Director Mr. Shashikumar I Pattanshetti.

Senior Marketing Manager Ajay Hulamani, Deputy Manager Dundesh Tadkod and others were present during the press conference.
