Maxicab Rams Parked Truck in Jevargi Taluk: Five Dead, 11 Seriously Injured

Kalaburagi: In a tragic incident near Sonn Cross in Jevargi taluk late Friday night, five members of the same family lost their lives on the spot after a Maxicab collided with a stationary truck parked by the roadside.

Out of the 31 people traveling in the Maxicab, five died instantly, while 11 others sustained serious injuries. The injured have been admitted to local and district hospitals, according to sources.

The deceased have been identified as Malan, Wajid, Mehboob Bi, Mehboob, and Priyanka from Bagalkot district. 

It is reported that all 31 passengers, belonging to a single family, were traveling from Bagalkot to the Khwaja Bande Nawaz Dargah in Kalaburagi city.

Overspeeding is suspected to be the primary cause of the accident. A case has been registered at the Nelogi Police Station.
