Daily Mail 24 News Desk.

New Delhi: The Vande Bharat Express which is running between Dharwad and Bengaluru will soon be extended to Belagavi. The much-anticipated extension of the service is set to commence operations soon, following discussions at the highest level of the government.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi, and Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar recently held a meeting in New Delhi to deliberate on the extension of the high-speed train service to Belagavi.

The meeting, which took place at Pralhad Joshi’s parliamentary office, saw extensive discussions on the feasibility and logistical aspects of the extension. Former Karnataka Chief Minister Shettar was also present.

The demand for this service was earlier raised by Rajya Sabha MP Iranna Kadadi and Belagavi MLA Abhay Patil, who had submitted formal requests to the Railway Minister.

Recently, Pralhad Joshi met senior railway officials, including the General Manager of South Western Railway and DRM, directing them to submit a report on the proposed extension.

Under the current plan, the train will depart from Belagavi in the morning, reach Bengaluru, and return by night. After reviewing the technical feasibility report, Railway Minister Vaishnaw has given a positive response.

The official schedule for the train service is expected to be released shortly. The extension will significantly benefit passengers from Hubballi-Dharwad and Belagavi, making travel to Bengaluru faster and more convenient.
