Hubballi: The newly rebuilt Old Bus Stand, developed by Hubballi-Dharwad Smart City Limited at a cost of ₹50.58 crore, will be inaugurated tomorrow.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti, District In-Charge Minister Santosh Lad, and MLAs Arvind Bellad, Mahesh Tenginkai, and Prasad Abbayya, among others, will be present at the inauguration ceremony.

The reconstruction of the bus stand, which began in September 2022, has been completed after two years and four months. This facility will serve as the hub for city, suburban, and Hubballi-Dharwad BRTS (HDBRTS) operations. Long-route and mofussil buses will continue to operate from the Hosur Bus Terminus and Gokul Road Bus Stand. However, long-route buses arriving in Hubballi will drop passengers off at the rebuilt Old Bus Stand.

The new facility includes underground parking for bikes and cars. It features eight platforms for city buses, six for BRTS buses, and 14 platforms for suburban buses. Additionally, there is designated space for idle buses, with the capacity to accommodate up to 16 buses at a time.
