Renowned Kannada writer and novelist Dr. Na D'Souza passed away at the age of 87 in a private hospital in Mangaluru after a prolonged illness. Known for his significant contributions to Kannada literature, including in children's literature, he was also a passionate environmental advocate.

Mangaluru: Renowned Kannada writer and novelist Norbert D'Souza, popularly known as Dr. Na D'Souza, passed away at the age of 87 in a private hospital in Mangaluru after a prolonged illness.  


His son Navin Na D’Souza confirmed the demise and said that his mortal remains would be kept for public viewing at his residence in Sagar tomorrow afternoon.  


Na. D'Souza was born on June 6, 1937, in Sagara, Shivamoga. His father was Philip D'Souza, and his mother was Rupina D'Souza. He had three children: Shobha, Naveen, and Santosh. Known as a significant storyteller with a focus on environmental concerns, Na. D'Souza made vast contributions to Kannada literature, including children's literature. Through his stories and novels, he consistently raised awareness about environmental conservation.
