Chamarajanagar: The stage is set for a historic moment as the Karnataka state government gears up to hold a Cabinet meeting at the revered Male Mahadeshwara Hills for the first time. The long-anticipated meeting is scheduled to take place on April 24 at the sanctum of Lord Mahadeshwara, with preparations already in full swing.
This will mark the ninth Cabinet session of 2025 and has been planned at Deepadagiri Vaddhu, a scenic spot near the iconic 108-foot statue of Lord Mahadeshwara. The meeting, which had been postponed three times earlier, is now confirmed to be held at 12 noon on April 24.
Key development proposals related to various districts of the Mysuru Division—namely Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Mysuru, Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru, Udupi, Mangaluru, and Hassan—are expected to be discussed during this special session. Holding the Cabinet outside the state capital is seen as a significant outreach move by the government.
In anticipation of the high-profile event, the Chamarajanagar district administration, led by Deputy Commissioner Shilpa Nag, has undertaken extensive arrangements to ensure the meeting is conducted smoothly. On April 18, DC Shilpa Nag, along with Hanur MLA M.R. Manjunath, visited the site to oversee and review the ongoing preparations.
