Protest Planned on BRTS Route in Dharwad on March 6

Dharwad: "A protest has been planned on March 6 by driving cars, auto-rickshaws, and two-wheelers on the BRTS route," said Ishwar Shivalli, President of the Dharwad Dhwani organization.

Speaking at a press conference in the city on Tuesday, he stated, "The protest will begin with a gathering at Kadapa Maidan at 10 AM. From there, light vehicles will be driven from Jubilee Circle to Navalur Bridge and from Unkal in Hubballi to Hosur Circle. We urge the public to support this cause."

He further mentioned that despite submitting appeals to the Transport Minister, Deputy Commissioner, BRTS Managing Director, and the Hubballi-Dharwad City Police Commissioner, requesting permission for two-wheelers, cars, and other vehicles to use the BRTS route, no action has been taken. "If the authorities continue to ignore our demands, we will stage a protest in front of the residences of public representatives," he warned.

"BRTS has caused nearly 90% of the traffic issues in the city. Public vehicle movement has been severely disrupted. We have staged multiple protests demanding a resolution, but the authorities have failed to take any action," he alleged.

Leaders including Ashok Enagi, Santosh Pattanashetti, Sharanu Giraddi, Venkatesh Raykar, Parameshwar Kale, Venkatesh Sagabal, Imran Talikoti, Basavaraj, and Manjunath were present at the press conference.
