Bengaluru: SSLC Student Dies by Suicide After Mother Asks Her to Focus on Studies

Daily Mail 24 News Desk.

Bengaluru: A tragic incident occurred in the Kadugodi police station limits on Wednesday, where a 15-year-old SSLC student died by suicide by jumping from the 20th floor of an apartment.

The deceased student, identified as Avantika Chaurasia (15), was a resident of an apartment in Kannamangala. Originally from Madhya Pradesh, she lived with her parents in a flat on the 20th floor and was studying in SSLC at a private school in Whitefield.

On Wednesday, Avantika was using her mobile phone at home when her mother advised her to put it aside and focus on studying, as exams were approaching. Upset by this, she went to her room, locked the door, opened the window, and jumped to her death, according to police reports.

Upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot and sent the body to the hospital. Preliminary investigations suggest that she took this extreme step after her mother scolded her for excessive mobile usage and urged her to concentrate on her studies.
