Bengaluru: The Supreme Court has issued notices to actor Darshan and six other accused in the Renukaswamy murder case. Darshan, his associate Pavitra Gowda, and five others, who were allegedly involved in the case, had been granted bail by the Karnataka High Court last year.

Following this, the Bengaluru police, with approval from the state government, filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the High Court’s decision. During the hearing, the government’s counsel argued that the accused had acted in an inhumane manner and requested the cancellation of the bail granted by the High Court.

The police raised concerns that Darshan, being a well-known celebrity with a large fan following, could potentially misuse his influence to tamper with evidence. They also highlighted several aspects that the High Court had allegedly overlooked while granting bail.

Darshan is currently out on bail and is expected to resume work on his upcoming film, Devil. However, if the Supreme Court cancels his bail, he may have to return to jail.
