Old Hubballi Man Arrested for Sexually Assualting Minor; Investigation Points to Serial Offences

Hubballi: The Kasabapet police have arrested a 30-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a minor and committing similar offences.

Police have recovered several obscene photographs and videos involving victims from the accused phone, which are expected to shed more light on the case as the investigation progresses.

Speaking to reporters, Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar stated that the accused, a resident of Old Hubballi, allegedly lured a minor to an isolated location and sexually assaulted them. The Kasabapet Police, who registered the case, apprehended the suspect and, during interrogation, uncovered evidence suggesting his involvement in similar crimes.

"Electronic evidence indicates that the accused stored numerous obscene images and videos of minors and women, along with several private videos," the Commissioner said.

The police are currently working to identify and contact the victims depicted in the recovered material. The accused runs a shop of repairing electrical equipment. However, it remains unclear how he captured the photographs and videos or carried out the alleged assaults.

 "Further investigation will reveal his modus operandi. The accused will be taken into police custody again to extract more details," Commissioner Shashikumar added.
