Offenders’ Parade Held in Hubballi Following Bank Robbery and ATM Heist Incidents

Daily Mail 24 News Desk.

Hubballi: Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar organized a parade of property offense offenders at the Old CAR ground in Hubballi on Tuesday. This exercise followed two major crimes: a bank robbery in Mangaluru and a Bidar incident where miscreants killed a bank staff member during an ATM cash refill and fled with money.

Around 930 offenders were paraded before the Commissioner, who personally inquired about their past crimes, current activities, and efforts to reform. He warned them of strict legal action if they failed to mend their ways.

Speaking to the media, Commissioner Shashikumar said the purpose of the parade was to update the Modus Operandi Bureau (MOB) records, which contain vital details about offenders, including fingerprints, accomplices, activities, residences, and connections with relatives and friends.

He emphasized that offenders were strictly warned against returning to criminal activities, adding that the police would continue monitoring them and gathering information about their associates. He noted that there are over 3,000 offenders listed in the twin cities, with 70 currently in judicial custody or jail, while some remain out of the police's view. Efforts are ongoing to track and monitor all offenders.

The parade was attended by DCPs Mahaning Nandagavi and Ravish C.R., ACP Shivaprakash Naik, and inspectors from various police stations.
