Hubballi: The Hubballi-Dharwad Congress has scheduled a meeting to discuss extending support to the Hubballi-Dharwad bandh called by various Dalit organizations. The bandh is being observed to condemn Union Home Minister Amit Shah's recent statement on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
A preliminary meeting of Congress party workers will be held on January 8 (Wednesday) to decide whether to support the bandh.
The Dalit organizations have announced the bandh on January 9 (Thursday), from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The protest is expected to significantly disrupt normal life in the twin cities.
