Bengaluru: An eight-month-old child in Bengaluru tested positive for Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV). This is the first case India has reported amid the outbreak in China. Interestingly, the HMPV was detected in the baby with no travel history.


The child is receiving treatment at a private hospital in the city. According to media reports, the Karnataka Health Department has confirmed it.
