Cong Responsible for Kashmir Problem: MLA Tenginakai Suggests Lad Should Lead Opposition Nationally

Daily Mail 24 News Desk.

Hubballi: MLA Mahesh Tenginakai criticized Minister Santosh Lad for demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resignation over the Pahalgam attack, calling it laughable. He asserted that Congress is the root cause of the Kashmir issue and accused Lad of lacking understanding of the situation. Tenginakai highlighted that Modi immediately returned from a foreign trip after the attack, convened an emergency meeting, and announced strong measures against Pakistan — moves even supported by opposition leaders.

He also slammed Congress for previously questioning the Indian Army’s surgical strikes and reminded Lad that between 2004–2014, under Congress rule, major cities witnessed deadly bomb blasts. In contrast, under BJP governance, there has been a 70% reduction in bomb attacks, stone pelting, and civilian killings. Tenginakai challenged Lad to examine the data himself.

He praised the development in Kashmir, noting that those who once wielded guns now carry books and pens, making the region a tourism hotspot — progress that insurgents cannot tolerate. Accusing Congress of playing appeasement politics, he said the nation must remain united during such times.

Tenginakai further mocked Lad’s stance, suggesting he should aim for a national opposition leadership role if he wants to showcase his “wisdom.” BJP leaders Lingaraj Patil, Ravi Naik, Raju Kale, and Manjunath Katkar were also present during the press conference.
