Hubballi: A youth was stabbed during the Ganesh idol immersion procession in Hubballi on Sunday night, sparking tension in the area. The incident occurred between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. in front of a sweet stall near the Town Police Station.
The injured has been identified as Chetan, a transport company manager. According to Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar, Chetan was attacked by a group of unidentified miscreants when he stepped aside to relieve himself.
He sustained multiple injuries on both legs, chest, and thigh, and has been admitted to a private hospital. “We have formed four special teams to track down the accused,” said DCP (Law and Order) Mahaning Nandagavi. He added that although Chetan was questioned, he stated he did not recognize his attackers. Police suspect the assault may have been the result of a personal grudge.
