Hubballi: The Hubballi–Dharwad CCB police have made a partial breakthrough in the case involving the robbery of a Kerala-based jeweller, who was duped by a gang of conmen posing as officials from Enforcement Directorate (ED) and looted of gold and ornaments worth Rs 3 crore.
As part of the investigation, the CCB team has arrested four accused and recovered 56.20 grams of gold worth Rs 6.65 lakh, Rs 60,000 in cash, and several mobile phones. The arrests were made in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Police said that a few members of the gang are still absconding, and efforts are under way to trace them and recover the remaining stolen valuables.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ankush Ramachandra Kadam of Thane; Chandrashekhar alias Rakesh Eknath Jadhav of Kalyan, Mumbai; Jigneshkumar Hasmukh from Vadodara; and Vilas Keshav Mohite of Thane, Mumbai.
