Bengaluru, October 12, Daily Mail 24 Online: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for Bengaluru and 13 other districts, warning of heavy rainfall through October 13. Authorities have also cautioned about the risk of landslides in several parts of the state.
Following heavy showers on Sunday, many parts of Bengaluru were waterlogged. According to IMD, the city is expected to witness continued rainfall until October 15, with intense spells likely today as well.
14 Districts Under Yellow Alert
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the following districts:
Dakshina Kannada, Tumakuru, Shivamogga, Ramanagara, Mysuru, Mandya, Kolar, Kodagu, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Chikkaballapur, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban and Chamarajanagar.
Rainfall in the range of 10 mm to 30 mm is expected in these areas. Officials have warned of potential landslides in several hilly and vulnerable zones. Continued rainfall is also forecast in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu.

For today and tomorrow (October 13), IMD has predicted light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in:
Tamil Nadu
Coastal Andhra Pradesh
Kerala and Mahe
In parts of Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, winds gusting up to 40 kmph along with rain are expected. Additionally, regions of Odisha, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms today.
