Dry Weather in North Interior, Rains Likely in South and Coastal Karnataka

Bengaluru: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall across several parts of Karnataka in the coming days. While much of the state has been experiencing reduced rainfall, dry weather is likely to prevail over the north interior districts.

According to the forecast, south interior and coastal regions are expected to receive rain through September 13. Showers are likely in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, Shivamogga, Tumakuru, and Vijayanagara districts.

Masked Men Break Into MP Congress Chief Jitu Patwari’s Residence

Indore: Masked miscreants reportedly broke into the residence of Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari late on Friday night. The incident took place in the Bijalpur area of Rajendra Nagar.

According to reports, the intruders first disconnected the power supply before entering Patwari’s office. They broke open drawers and lockers containing mobile phones and other items, but curiously left without stealing anything.

The miscreants are also said to have attempted break-ins at three other houses in the locality, including the residences of Rajkumar Thakur, Chief Municipal Officer; Narendra Thakur, an MPEB official; and the Arya family in Poonasa. The burglars allegedly cut through window grills to gain entry, though it remains unclear whether anything was stolen from those homes.

Police are investigating the matter.

Yuva Brigade Founder Chakravarthy Sulibele’s Father Passes Away

 

Bengaluru: Chakravarthy Sulibele, noted writer, columnist, social activist and founder of the Yuva Brigade, is bereaved following the demise of his father, Devadas Subraya Shet.

 

Shet, who had been ailing for a short period, passed away on Saturday. He had served as the headmaster of the government school in Sulibele and was widely respected in the community.

 

Condolences poured in from several leaders, including BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra and former MP Pratap Simha, who expressed their grief on social media.
